Senior Faculty Position in Imaging Science 

Applications are invited for the Frederick Wiedman Jr. Chair, an endowed faculty position in the Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

The Center is a cross-disciplinary academic unit in the College of Science offering B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. Ongoing research topics within the Center include remote sensing, astronomy data pipelining and instrumentation, color and visual science, chemical imaging, and medical ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging. The Frederick Wiedman Jr. Professor will have a research interest and background in the development of imaging algorithms. The analysis and modeling of imaging systems for the purposes of information extraction from sensor data, its effective refinement (including fusion with other information sources), and interactive presentation are of particular interest. Remote sensing, astronomical imaging and document imaging are examples of application areas of interest. The successful candidate will be an active and distinguished researcher with a demonstrated ability for scientific leadership in an interdisciplinary setting, with a strong
commitment to education, and with a proven track record in securing extramural research funding.
